There is a work around Ferg but this will only work on the Starview 1 using the SVCE to sort it and you must revert back to pre 2.60 firmware. The Bish has come up with the solution I will put up the patch into the Starview firmware folder. But I will have to ask TheBish if I can release the instructions here and elsewhere Ferg, as its only fair as he done the work.

Can anybody me please, I have a Starview for about 6 months and I have the latest software so it is able to auto update the code changes.
When I check the programme information for any channel, the information popup is blank and it has never worked. I have a second box and it is working fine on it. Is there a way I can turn it back on, I cannot seem to find it. Kind Regards.

yep i agree there all right but you must remember that the clone boxes cannot use this firmware as it will kill their boxes dead so you must put a tut with it telling the people this otherwise you will get the blame should their boxes get bricked

do this it should work out fine for you take any splitters of the feed first before doing it ok
1 make sure your incoming cable is connected to the cable input on the box and not going thru a splitter
2 Make sure you have a scart lead connected to the tv on the box and connected to AV1 or EXT1 only
also make sure you check this as been a proper working scart
3 Next go to menu factory settings and press ok put in 0000 code press ok to clear all data
4 Make sure you turn the box off at the mains for 1 min and turn back on again
5 Accept the language
6 Installation put your provider in the top box then do an auto scan wait for this to finish even if you see
failed a few times this is normal so just be patient till it has finished
7 When this is finished exit out to main tv screen
8 Then go to menu and press 1570 on the key pad into secret menu and turn the EMU on which has been switched off by default
9 Exit out 3 times to main screen and put the box on to the tv channel sky sports 1 and wait for this to update this
could go up as far as 250% so again be patient and wait also do not change the channel while
this is been done or you will have to start all over again

Yep Ferg will do but this is not a firmware patch as such just a work around and is basically a patch for the SVCE and you have to put pre 2.60 firmware on yourself so it will be fine for all SV1s, but you will lose the ability to autoroll, although TBH most people that come here probably have older firmware on their boxes already as we have been blue in the face trying to get all to update :)

true but there is always the odd one that it could brick if the person dont know what they are doing my advice would be to wait and see if a release is forthcoming but as i always say i wont be holding my breath lol :)

you dont have to put it on the forum put it with the patch and rar it and then acknowledge him for it that should be ok
But as always i leave it to your self as you are the one that is putting it up

Well as it is a Uk thing i think starview manufacturers and the Pointy Hat man making all the money should sort it and not us as it is the like of us guys that are keeping their ever growing business thriving
As if it was not for the Mods and other members on all sites there would be no help at all as the big business heads dont get involved and when something happens who are the first people to be gone yep you guessed it the big money makers
Hiding under their big rocks they they have pulled themselves out form under when things are running smoothly

Cant comment I may get shot LOL :) I have spoken with TheBish and he has no bother with it here all he wants is people to report back as he knows it works in Telepest areas, but would like to know if it works on all areas, small price for his work :)
I will throw it up now Ferg on a seperate thread and put the patch into Eamos ;)
