really no idea about xls, but as evry body says that u just open downloader then click brows then u c all version of firmware if u already downloaded, u just need to download downloader and download v 2800 and put them in same folder.

the main thing is u have 2 check if there is connection between ur pc and the box, i think that is the case if u did evry thing correctly, then the only faulty would be no connection.

i had same problems i used usb convertor, because my pc doesnt have serial port, so was nt connection at all, but 2day i instaled serial port to my pc, but havent tried yet, cos waiting 4 4 rs232 cable.

there r 2 different serial port card, desktop and laptop, each one have different one, so make sure u installed correctly.

my digivox even is not 2008, i bought it 2007.

gd luck man, hope u sorted out, but i think if there is connection so u try every things, first try downloader if not then xls, then shoul be work. if u have further problem ask catkid or main man i think they know better.

hi gang i hope i do .lol.just want to point out each box has its own files and are not interchangeable .
digivox 2007 model black and silver use vers 2.800.
digivox xl all black use vers 1220.
do not put xl on 2007 and viceversa or u might brick it.
the handiest way to flash ur box is with pc with serial port and null modem cable.flashing with usb ports and adaptors do not always work.and vista i wont even go there.
the xl vers 1230 is a beta added patch for boxes that reboot only and is on trial,u have to flash it with vers 1220 first.
another solution if any of ur friends have a pc with serial port is a quicker way to flash box,if u r thinking of buying a pc check to see if u can add a serial port makes life easy.

with downloader open app selected u put firmware onto box say digivox v2.800,u then select com port, then download.
if u have a channel dump file on desktop which u want to put onto box u then select channel and download to box.
if u have freshly scanned a box u can make a dump file on pc by selecting channel and uploading to pc an identical file.
if u have another identical box u can flash firmware first, let box reboot ,select channel, browse where u stored ur dump file, select it ,open, and download, box reboots.
the problem with a dump file is short lived as channel frequency change ur file will be obsolete.

memory sticks handy to store all files, instead of searching desktop u just search memory stick.
