no problem man: PCI serial 2 port card, i bought it few days ago in mapline for ?50 , it has 2 serial port and it comes wd cd driver and a leflet of how to installed, its important to follow instruction cos it ask u to instal driver 3 times then restart, and try 1 of serial port shoud work and the port was working 4 me was number 4. u just remove the still behind the pc and place(instal) the serial port card into that slot, follow that no one have any problem.
note: that is for desktop, but if some one have laptop ask mapline they show u the right one.

also i bought the cable in a shope in blanch, if need it i can get the name, cos right now mapline dnt have that cable, they have it in the warehouse but not yet in the shop.

yes i bought a pcmcia rs232 serial adaptor for my laptop but found out later i needed a smaller one called pc express and now no laptop due to malfunction

I managed to get my Digivox XL working just when i was giving up,the problem was a wrong Cable as Cactikid rightly pointed out,my computer was not communicating with the box.Thanks guys especially Cactikid for taking your time to assist me.

Guys it never rains but pours for me,just when i thought i had cracked it,my digivox xl is playing up again.I flashed with ver 1230 and it worked for about 3 days but now its blank,in fact program info is there but every channel is scrambled or bad.What should i do to sort this problem,i've tried to redo channel search but still no joy.

menu > system info
press 1004 on remote
Turn emu on
set default key > press ok
exit to s*y sports & let it update.

i put ver1230 straight on.Was i supposed to flash with ver 1220 first.If so should i just overwrite the v1230 with v1220.

hi evry one!
any one have any clue about Dreambox, cos im planing to buy 1 and connect it to my dish, my question is; can i get all sky channels like sky sport1, 2, 3 and all movie channels and discoveries channels, with many thanks.

yes u jumped the gun ,factory reset first,flash with v1220,then scan for channels,u do not need v1230 unless u have a problem with rebooting,

hhhhhh, but people say this sattelite reciver is the best and can descramble all the channel, just wanted 2 get some info on it.

ok, thanks for reply, i didn't know that, im happy wd my box, but its 2 weeks and still ntl didn't tell me what day they come and install the cable 4 me, that is y i said may there is somthing work with dish, then wd be easier and cheaper.

vers.1220 will autoroll as when keys are changed ,box will go into update mode to seek out new ones.all u need to do is factory reset,and flash with 1220,and then autoscan ur provider and emu to on

the problem is trying to find out identify what system u have,do u have a digital box with what name,do u have a square aerial mesh on roof?or what info is on ur bill

Wondered if anyone can help - i have already done a firmware upgrade to this file name:
digivox_z20070101_v4000_api
but my box now is all scrambled and only really shows "freeview" channels ie the basic any advice before about a month "ish!!!" it worked fine
the box itself is a digivox reciever of this type:

on screen it says SW version v04-0.0000BK
Boot version 01
any advice would be appreciated
