i managed to sort it, ran the flash assitant but nothing has happened on the laptop screen or on the lcd panel on the box

When you say nothings happend
Is the box booting up
Are you sure that cable is a crossover cable
If it is stick withit and it will flash................Paul

If it dident say flashing in the lcd
Its not reflashed
If it did say flashing
Leave it on ski sports 1 for 5 mins
You may have to reflash again but it will only work useing acrossover cable ....................Paul

still no joy bud, nothing is happing on the lcd screen and im using the right cable. on the boot manager says pinging dbox2 failed if that means anything 2 u

after leaving it for about an hour, i rescaned and it found 90 or so channels unlocked but no signal just says error.

sorry about this mate but making a total hash of this, i know why its not working im having trouble comunicating with the box, the cable is sending the signal but not receiving one back

just got a new 1 off a mate, some1 said that i have to set the ip's the same in network connections. does this mean i have 2 set up a new network connection

This is an active thread so i thought id post my question here.
I have lost my password for the parental lock!!!!!! So i wont be able to rearrange bouquets or service scan in the future.
First number was a 5/6, i think
Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi,
There are 2 methods to find the pincode on a dbox2
either FTP into var/tuxbox/config and view neutrino.conf, look for parentallock_pincode=####
the #### is the pincode.
If you want you can do it from the dbox
Choose Tuxbox Commander
var ok
tuxbox ok
config ok
scroll down to neutrino.conf ok
then scroll down to the line, it is in alphabetical order.

Ive got up to neutrino conf on the big blue list. Next to neutrino.conf it says 6.621 ( ithink)
Do i just press ok when on it?
I dont get what to do after that though. I didnt get what u meant by 'scrolling down to the line'

BTW Im not sure whether i have a sagem dbox 1 or 2. I think its 1 as it doesnt say 2 anywhere on it. Will this make a difference?

hi bud, any ideas how to connect pc to dbox. ive tried 2 cross over wires they both connect to the box and send a signal but does'nt receive one back.

You dont need to know any ips at all to flash with ifa
Just cross over cable like i said run ifa
And switch on and off at the wall thats it
Never had a problem
If you want to FTP you need the ips
Programs here if you want it..........Paul

box off at the wall, cable connected to both box and pc and i run dbox2 image flash. 1 commando 6 x1 2, selected the port 3, nullmodecable no........ press start then ok and pug the box in at5 the wall... the box just loads up as normal

Try it on another laptop or pc
Wot version of ifa are you useing
Ile post you the other one
Ive sat there for an hour at least doing the on and off thing but it went in the end ...........Paul

ifa (156 file) if thats any help. once u start the flash do u restart it everytime u unplug the box or just leave it running

Just leave the pc alone once you pushed ok
And keep switching on and off at the wall with your toe

parental lock pincode this is the one you want make a note
Then Home save settings .....Yes
