Do you have any conflicts in your Hardware\Device Manager. Look for little Red or Yellow icons, especially around your Sound devices...
Also which Soundcard do you have...

Look your motherboard and if you know the type I will know the compatible sound card.

open system information, and follow the System Manufacter, to know the motherboard.
