For all u XBOX 360 fans out there, please tell me why u think the XBOX 360 is better than the PS3. What are the extra benefits? :D

I guess it comes down to the exclusive games that come out for the system.
I love my 360 but there's PS3 games I wouldn't mind playing.
The only reason I don't own a PS3 is I can't afford it.
The 360 has a high failure rate. PS3 seems to be more stable.

playstation 3 has just had the price slashed, same price as the elite. i didn't think that was too bad.

It is not which is better, It is all about which exclusive games you prefer. I went with the 360 for the price and because i loved my old Xbox better than my PS2 as it could do more and do it a lot easier. So i have high hopes that homebrew software will be released some day to give the 360 all the capability that the old Xbox had.

right now 360 can play backups, ps3 can't. If you like Halo 3...360 is the only way. GTA IV is also coming, but thats not exclusive, but there is exculsive content. 360 has better controller than anyother yet to date according to independent companies. Rumble and and trigger sesitive trigger for racing, its not just a button either pushed in or out. and for a bit of fanboyerism: 360 doesn't look like a bar b q grill.

ps3 can play backups. i personally prefer the ps3 cos it has the motions sensing which realy adds to games like no other. one example in super rub a dub. i no its a realy sad game but i like the concept of titling the controller. i also like the free online play but 360 owners are gonna say that there are 000's of people on live but then again, you can't really play with 000's of people at a time can you? every time i play call of duty 3, i'm always in games with 20+ people (24 tops). so i don't think there's much of a difference. i do like the ps3 home which is coming soon and littlebig planet. 360 on the other hand is not so inoovative in that the only thing apart from live are the games. but ps3's are stable but not completely, mine has crashed twice since i bought it 3 months ago. my 360 on the other hand, died of 3 red lights. so in terms of stability, none is perfect but the ps3 is better there. although GoW and halo and PGR3 were great games, 360 doesn't seem to have any other exclusives that seem to be coming soon. the ps3 does however. it also helps that the ps3 hard drive is a laptop hard drive so ther almost no limit to how big you can go and i think they are cheaper than the 360s. so mainly, if you like wider entertainment, ps3's the way to go but if you only want games that are provided with th 360 go there. but bear in mind the good games now won't be so good in a few years so you need to think about the future too. ideally, get them both :)

I bought PS3 because of some exclusives but one very important thing. Reliability. Sony's system have all lasted very long for me, i have had PS1 since it came out and it still works perfect, same with my PS2. But when i hear all this stuff about the 30% red lights of death thing on the Xbox 360, it doesn't seem very reliable.
Now i understand Microsoft added a 3 year warrenty and will replace the system and what not, but still, it seem crazy that Microsoft would really have to force an extended warrenty when its just a matter of how the system is built.
Another thing i should point out is, like Nintendo, Sony has been making game consoles well before Microsoft, so they obviously have more experience in making a very good system.
Another reason i did not get the 360 is because of all the add-ons you have to buy, controller charger, wi-fi adapter, online play, HD-DVD player etc.
PS3 includes, built in wi-fi, a Blu-ray player (which we know is outselling HD-DVD currently) online play is free, and the system includes a USB controller charger, which works the same as the Xbox 360 one, (plug it in and play).
The only problem i have faced with my PS3 is it froze about once or twice on Oblivion, but we all know how massive and hardware demanding that game is.

I think it comes down to 2 things What you wanna play and who you want to play with. It seems that the exclusives section for each console is shrinking as you can see with the release of GTA IV on both formats at the same time. so have a look at whats comming in the future and make your choise from that.
The other important aspect to look at is are you looking to play online if so the xbox provides a seemless online experience at a cost whilst the PS3 is more clumbsy but free of charge
I currently own all of the current gen consoles for the following reasons
Wii - its inovative and fun to play with friends and family - Fav game wii sports & zelda
Xbox 360 - Great online play - Fav game Rainbow six Vegas & PGR
PS3 - Very nice graphics - Motorstorm & resistance

How is it clumbsy? Do you mean the Playstation Network interface with the sending messages and what not? I can agree that it is stupid how there is no insant messaging on the PSN yet, but i don't see how it makes it clumbsy. Me and my friends do fine sending messages back and fourth.

i have had my xbox 360 for a little over a month now and love it. i bought it insted of a ps3 for a couple of resons.
1. my ps2 died after 4 years it was well venelated not mooded and treated well
2. look at the line up for the coming months bioshock Halo 3 assisans creed and halo wars
3. i was reading on a couple of sites today that konami might put out mgs4 on other consoles to recoupe dev costs.
4.it has a 3 year warrenty for the red ring of death and on year warrwnty on all the hardware both running at the same time.

Yeah i highly doubt Konami is going to release MGS4 on another console. You gotta be crazy to say that. Think about all the money they already have made from previous Metal Gear games. And yes i understand MGS2 Subsistence came out on Xbox, but its not that big of deal since really it doesn't add much new other then the fact you can play as Snake on the Plant side of the game. And theres a couple of mini games. And another reason it won't be released on Xbox 360 is because they have to remake tons of there work to run on the Xbox 360 which would cost even more to do.

I highly think they will right now sony has 4 million consoles out the xbox360 has 10/11 million sold..so if they release on both they can sell many copies to a bigger crowd it be 14 million could buy instead of 4 million its all about money look here

Actually i heard the same rumor buzzing around. And why would it be crazy for a game company to make their title for all consoles? That would mean more money for them so they would be crazy not to do it. Being an exclusive title is great is you are something like a Halo or GTA game where you will sell a ton of copies anyway (3 most sold games for any console were Halo, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas, all of which you can play on a 360). But unless your get some BIG kick backs from Sony there is no reason to be exclusive to them, they are getting crushed in both sales and game releases at the moment.
Also a rumor that MS will drop the price of all 360 systems by $50 so they can once again beat Sony at the price game even after the $100 price drop they just had. Sony has been at the top of the console kingdom for 10 years now so this is their first bitter taste o being on the losing end.

not knocking the 360 but im not really into first person shooters. games like god of war 3, heavenly sword, ninja gaiden sigma,devil may cry and gran turismo 5 are more my cup of tea ;) so the ps3 is the system for me ;)

yes, it has more fps games then anything else for sure. But most of them are top notch, and the racing games they have (Forza 2, PGR 3 & Dirt) are just great.
If your into fantasy, MMORPG or just RPG then having a good PC is your best option.

I dont think Sony is on the loosing end at all. Think about it...the PS3 hasnt even been out for a year yet.
Its easy to compare the 360 to a PS3 now and see that 360 have better exclusives and a line up of games, but was it like that 8 months into the 360's life?
nope.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

What i meant by clumbsy. when using xbox live it is very easy to chat to people if they are in the same game or not, its easy to join someone in a different game from the dash or from another game. send text message without having to load to the dashboard, prompts to show when a friends has come online. having a central friends list (resistance fall of man you have to create a new list for that game) These are all very little things that allow for a very smooth transition when playing online. But you have to pay for the smoothness

Oh okay i see what you mean now, yeah that is all true, but at least Rainbow Six Vegas your whole friends list is already online when you go online, but Resistance you have to add your friends which can be annoying.

I just bought a ps3 yesterday after a lot of thinking 1 motnh to be exact. Thing that sold me to buy one were.
1. My ps2 lasted 10years my xbox 5years
2. I usually but 1 game per month so i really dont need a lot of games
3. I can dowlaod movies from the net and watch on my ps3
4. This forum

Good reasoning, but PS2 hasn't been out for 10 years lol. Can't you put videos on the Xbox 360 HDD also? I like my PS3 for video though, since i can bumb up a lot of stuff to HD.
