I'd like to enable the next-chapter button on a DVD backup. The DVD begins with the FBI warning, followed by about 5 studio logo, thx logo, etc. All of this stuff is in Chapter 1. I don't want to delete chapter 1. I just want to enable the next-chapter button. It is enabled on all other chapters.

This doesn't seem like remove p-uops. Doesn't that affect the whole movie? Where is the this-chapter-is-mandatory bit (or its equivalent)?

TIA

AnyDVD is a decrypting program that can remove the FBI warning and alot more so that when you rip, all of your selected options will either be removed or remain.

The fbi warning etc, is probably under a different title set or witin the video_ts.ifo and video_ts.VOB...

If it is the VOB, then this can be dragged using DVD Shrink and produce a seperate episode, thus giving you the option of skipping through them.....

I haven't done this as I usually strip all of that out.......but I think the theory side of it will work....

Have a look at http://www.chrismccann.co.uk for a guide on DVD Shrink then have a look where the fbi etc is located using DVD Shrink...

Using the guide, I think you can find what you need.....

Hope this helps....

Thanks. To my surprise, removing PUOPS was all it took. I shoulda experimented before posting.

On this particular DVD, there is a single title, and the undesirable content is all in chapter 1, so a single press of the next-chapter button is all it takes.

Now I'm on a quest to make the "(Jump_VTS_PTT) Jump to Chapter" Pre-Command just start the DVD at chapter 2. For some reason, replacing JUMP_TT to Title 1 with JUMP_VTS_PTT to Title 1 and Chapter 2 produces a DVD that won't play on a stand-alone player, and it locks up Windows Media Player.

You're Ifoediting aren't you, never told me that....LOL

There are some good pointers for this at IFOEdit.com" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://www.IFOEdit.com

I did something like it Many moons ago, but cannot for the life of me think what it was, it was something very simple like modifying the video_ts.ifo for the first play area, this just played it straight from that point.....

If I get a vision. I'll let you know......

Turns out that I chose a tough DVD to work on. Often you can just insert a jump-to-title. However, jumping to a *chapter* is harder. You have to do it in the titleset, and you have to hex-edit the Pre Command because the command you need is not handled by IFOEdit yet -- "20 05 00 00 00 00 0x xx LinkPTTN (xxx = chapter number).

Thanks! Case closed.
