Thanks for your replies guys, I?m totally new to this and appreciate your assistance.
That Gspot program is fantastic. Someone recommended it to me on another forum, but somehow I ended up with v 2.21. The version Attar linked (2.7) helped to straighten that out.
I checked out IMGburn as well. Am I correct in assuming that this program has built upon the burning engine used by the venerable DVD-Decrypter? What do you guys think of DVDflick?

As for my .ISO file, Gspot identified it as NTSC standard 4:3 DVD, so it looks like I?m good to go. However, before I try my first burn, could I ask a few more questions?
I have Nero 6 SE (it came with my Sony DRU-710 drive) installed. Can I use Nero to burn the .ISO to a playable DVD-R?
Also, I?ve noticed that quite a few TV shows are encoded in .VOB, .IFO and .BUP. Is this the result of a DVD being ripped by DVD-Shrink? I found a tutorial here:

Which seems to indicate that I need to place all of the aforementioned files in my Video_TS folder when I burn. I?m thinking IMG burn can also do this, but just wanted to make sure so I don?t download too many programs that overlap their functions.
And lastly, can I use a program like the WinXP Virtual CD-Rom control panel to ?mount? my .ISO and test it before I burn, or would I need a DVD player (such as WinDVD) to confirm playback? Thx again.

IMGburn=DVD Decrypter, same author, no ripper.
ISO, start Nero Burning ROM > Recorder > Burn Image.
A standard DVD or (DVD folder or DVD ISO) consists of the files noted and are always in the VIDEO_TS folder.
The (empty)Audio_TS folder is part of the original DVD spec.
All rippers will show the same files in the same folders (else they are not standard).
Sadly, I don't know anything about DVDFlick or WinXP,

Ok, sounds good. I went ahead and tried burning the .ISO with Nero 6. It worked great! Plays in my Pioneer DVD player and the picture quality looks good to boot. I'll have to take some time to watch the episodes all the way through, but my initial preview went very well.

If you use Nero Vision
Make DVD > DVD Video > Add Video Files, specify 'All files' and add the ISO.
Save the output to the HDD and check the sync with the media player before burning.
Sometimes Nero has problems converting from/to PAL.
If it's out of sync, rip the ISO with DVD Shrink (File > Open Disc image)and add the VOB files to vsoDivxToDVD, check the output for sync and burn the folder with Nero or IMGBurn.

Import the file(s) (AVI, WMV,MPEG, VOB)
Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD.
Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv)
Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America)

Thanks again, Attar. Using the info you posted in addition to some information I found on other threads, I was able to convert my .VOB, .IFO and .BUP files from their PAL source to NTSC, save them as .ISO files and burn them easily with Nero 6 SE.
I originally did a straight burn from PAL source material to Nero and the result was a DVD with audio that would "echo" everytime someone spoke. ;) That was a good lesson, and I will definitely check my source material with Gspot before every burn.
All in all, things look good.
With the bevy of free tools out there (DVD-Shrink, VOB Blanker, GSPot and others) it looks like this is all very doable. Being new to all this, it took me some time to learn the ins and outs, but I think i'm doing well so far: 2 good DVD's and only 1 coaster, so i'm 2 for 3.
Another question, if I may:
I've noticed that my life becomes a lot easier if the file i'm working with is in .ISO format. Would IMGBurn be a good program to use to convert all of the .bin/.cue and .mdf/.mds files out there to .ISO format? Particularly when it comes to software applications, which i'd much rather mount and run from the hard drive rather than burn a CD-Rom.

Glad your burning/converting ok.No stopping you now.
As to IMGBurn and the ISO question, I couldn't offer an opinion.
Most of my ISO's are temporary files.
Probably better starting a new thread and soliciting opinions from experienced users.

Only wya i really know how thats very very easy is, have anydvd running to get rid of the cd blockage on some newer dvds, dvd shrink it and then after u shrink it to make a iso dvd decrypter pops up pop in a dvd r burn it and volia.
