when copy the downgrader to MSit shows up as corrupted data..
is it possible that the MS hass just gone bad (too many file changes, read/writes??) but then that wouldnt explain the psp weird behavior..
i dont know what to do.. thanks for all of your help, im done posting for now. i appreciate any other answers or ideas... thanks..

THe best thing to do is format your stick. You install 1.50 in recovery mode. The recovery folder shold be in psp/game/recovery/eboot.pbp. Shutdown PSP turn it on holding R then go down 2 to Run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP
Also, it is normal for that to display as corrupted file in the game folder, since it only runs in recovery mode. Srry for not posting this sooner.

Also what is the brand of your memory card. SanDisk or SansDisk?

Yea, if u cant get recovery menu just try installing 3.03 OE-C, its the most stable, after that u should restore defult settings, then install 3.40 OE-A or 3.51 M33 (then update 6)

so just to be clear (sorry for sounding like a broken record)
i can just reinstall 3.03 without any need to downgrade or anything??
and then just upgrade back to 3.4(as i did before) or 3.5??
whats update 6? is 3.5 worth the time or is it bug ridden?
thanks lots

Yes, you can just reinstall 3.40 oe-a... I've have heard people having alot of touble with this firmware...i dont know y. i didnt have any problems what so ever(on a old mobo). 3.51 M33 was a suprise firmware, no one really expected it. It is really buggy, mostly becuase sony change the whole firmware encryption and file system. Update 6 is for 3.51 M33. Its just a update that fixes a few things like some bugs, uses sony NP9660 no umd patch n just a few update on the M33 firmware.
Get M33 here

3.51 M33-6 is worth the time because it now has the 6 update where you can play any ISO without a UMD with Sony's loader.

as i mentioned earlier, i was having pc probs (though only on one user acct) i tried transferring files to MS on the other acct and they are working fine now?? tho it still doesnt change that my psp itself is being weird. i wonder if my windows doesnt have a bug that somehow screwed with my psp during transfer?? (thats a scary thought) but thats another post for another forum. i can play w/o umd on 3.4, however i have never gotten a psx game to work?. but i will want 3.5 if i need it for certain newer games,like i cant get hot pixel to work at all.. grr... thanks for all the help everyone. much appreciated.

3.51 M33-6 is pretty awesome, so far it has 100% no-UMD capabilities...

you don't need to install each update either. just install M33 then update 6.

pukka!

@blindark,
Were you able to recover back to 1.5 or reflash your OE? Did it solve your problem?

Because the reason you cannot access your config menu is because your flash1 got corrupted somehow. It will also cause random changes to your other recovery settings, like skip into, turn no-umd on (probably why you can't run umd), and etc. Usually a firmware reflash will solve everything for you. If not, we can help you re-format your flash1.

#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe
Whatever happens, happens...

Can I just put the 1.5 eboot in the recovery and just run it? Or do I need to change my theme back to the origional before I do anything?

@blackvamp

i did manage to reflash back to 3.03OE-c but i am still having the same problems like intro skip and not playing certain umds. so my flash1 must be corrupted you say? maybe cause the pc was screwin up during transfer? who knows but i appreciate the help. what do i do next to fix that?
thanks.

okay, so i finally got the recovery to work
back to 1.5,
but as soon as i went back up to 3.4oe i started having the same problems again...grrrr...
ive had to once again recover and i am going to just sit at 3.03 for now until someone has any idea what i can do... maybe i can just skip 3.4 as that appears to be a problem source and go to 3.5??

Flash1 is backed up in flash0. So before doing anything, make sure you have a fresh copy flash0 (if you just re-flashed your oe then it's fine). Connect to you computer, go to recovery, advanced, toggle flash1. Delete everything in flash1 folder, exit recovery. You will get a blue screen of death, saying: "press o to restore system files". Do that.

If you are uncomfortable deleting your flash, you can also get a flash1 formatter, which basically does the same thing for you automatically.

done, but i didnt get a BSOD, instead it just restarted and loaded my umd (which wouldnt play previously) it was in japanese or something.
i put my settings back to where i wanted them starting with english haha... but should i be worried that it didnt show the BSOD? i mean, doesnt it need that to reset the flash?
thanks

It usually will have a bsod, but I wouldn't worry about it. If you go back to flash1, you will see it's been formated and everything is restored back.

Anyway, good to see everything worked out for you. If you notice anything unusual again, let us know. :)
