I installed wiikey on my wii and was able to play the original games and the backup games for a while trouble free.
However, after I put in the Big brain Academy backup, my Wii start having trouble reading other backup games that was working before. I start getting "Unable to read the disc.
"Check the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting."
I have to reset/switch disc to get the games to come up with luck for a short while, but still can play once disc are regonized. However, now, none of the games can be loaded with the error message above.
It doesn't even load the Wiikey Base configuration v1.2 dvd (I use the US batch to make this disc)
FYI, I notice there were some setup/update happen when I inserted Big Brain Adademy disc, I have to reset my Wii couple time for it to come up. Could this change some setting to cause wiikey not function. How can I resolve the problem?
My Wii is US version, and most of my back up games are US backup and some NTSC downloads.
Originally posted by MrBish: I called up the people who fixed my mistake for me (modchipfitters.com) and they told me it was a problem people have been having due to a new batch of the Wiikey. Apparently wiikey.cn didn't tell modchipfitters.com that they'd changed the specs of the chip, so now not enough voltage is getting to the drive in order to read backups. So i've sent it back to them so they can install an extra wire. Should be getting it back soon in working order. Thanks for the advice.
