PSP you need to be able to load a application that performs the downgrade process. The Lumines game has a 'bug' which allowed noobz.eu to create a 'hook' into that 'bug' which allowed the system to then run unisigned code. This type of 'bug' (or exploit) has been used previously (like with GTA )to allow a downgrader to be created.

it should just make sure that the fw requirement isn't anything crazy like 3.51 cuz that would be a patched version (if that even exists)
