i own guitar hero 1 and 2, and at completely random times, the song track will freeze, the background keeps moving and the music sometimes plays and skips back. then the music will be behind and it makes it harder to play. some songs have this happen so much, that they are virtually UNPLAYABLE! and i do know that its my ps2's problem and not the disc's because they never freeze at my friends house.
is there an expert who has seen this before? someone who can tell me how to get it to stop? please and thank you.
Since you'd have to remove the top part of your DVD drive to access the laser to clean it, you might also try adjusting the white gear in the drive behind the laser as well. Sometimes a few clicks in one direction or the other will make the laser read perfect. 400B lasers are especially finicky.

Thanks, but my mom and I couldn't even figure out how to open the case up.
There's a local game store that will open up the case and detail the entire insides and make sure the drives are oiled and everything's aligned- for $40.
Do you think it's worth it.
There's enough guides on the net that you shouldn't have any problems. However, if they'll open up the case, clean the laser, grease the DVD drive AND adjust the laser - that's not bad for $40. However, there's no guarantee that would put your system in 100% working condition.
My PS2s lights don't come on any more and the please enter a playstation or playstation2 disk message comes on when i try to play dvd somtimes? it's the old PS2 too.
