Make sure the Wii is not a D2C chipset. If it is a D2C chipset then the Wiikey will not be compatible. As of now there is no Modchip compatible with the D2C chipset.

If it is a D2B chipset make sure that the chipset has all the legs on the chipset itself. If the 3 legs are missing then you will need to do a modification to the chipset to use the Wiikey. Look at the link below for more information...

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/517095

Look on the top of the chipset to figure out if it is a D2B or D2C chipset.

You can't really tell if the chipset is D2B or D2C or even if the pins have been cut by the serial #'s.

You will need to open up the Wii and check for yourself.

Naw it is good. The Wiikey is compatible with D2A chipsets.

Since you say you have it installed correctly then I would try different media.

Wii systems can be very picky at what media it will read. So I would try some DVD-R media Verbatim/Tayio Yuden/Maxell and see if that makes a difference.

Just because the media works on your Wii systems doesn't mean it will work on your brothers.

DVD-R media tend to be more compatible with most Wii systems. So try to buy some DVD-R media.

I know you said you checked with your meter and everything but it sounds like the probable cause is a bad install. Are you testing from the pad on the mod chip to the leg on the wii chip? You could have burnt a track out or lifted a pad. Other than that theres the smallest possibility that the mod chips faulty.

Im testing it from the solder from both the chip to the mobo

and i did it the wire way
Im going to resolder and see if it was a bad contact
