Is there a way to convert Codbreaker .cbc files to usable saves?

I was wondering if the Day 1 saves from Codebreakers can be converted to be used as regular saves. I looked into PS2 Savebuilder and it doesn't see the file. The regular .cbs files are supported but I don't see .cbc. Is this a simple renaming of the file extension?
