Problem with WindowsXP Media Center 2004

I have WindowsXP Media Center 2004 as my OS with Comcast as my ISP and cable TV provider. About a month ago I reinstalled my OS due to a catastophic failure. Everything seemed to be all right except for my ability to download the TV Program Guide to Media Center. I never really checked it after Comcast took over from Adelphia so I don't know if this is a problem directly related to Comcast. I went through a possible fix with Dell but the result was that they said that Comcast provides the data for the Program Guide and otherwise everything is working as it should. I spoke to Comcast once and they place the blame at the feet of Microsoft and Dell. My question: does anyone have Media Center and have the same problem I have? If not, can someone help solve this problem? Somehow it looks as though I am engaged in a finger pointing contest. Thanks for the read.
