thanks for the info on winrar deez but i've just encountered another problem after i've extracted the rar file i put it onto the memory stick (which is genuine) and go to play it on the psp but after i've selected it the screen just goes grey and stays that way. I'm thinking this is just a bad iso file as i was able to play a downloaded cso file on the psp but could it be anything else?

Deez Nutz, I accidentally reformatted my memory stick and now I lost the IRSHell program also I now unable to go to recovery mode. What should I do to replace and reinstall those program back? I still able to play all iso/cso files as my psp still 3.40 OEA firmware. Thanks for the help!.

I dont see how formatting your memory stick would prevent you from getting into recovery, the file that controls the recovery console is in your internal psp memory- unless you somehow managed to delete the "recovery.prx" file in flash0 messing with that IRshell.....

I know this sounds like a long shot, but try to restore your default settings from the psp settings menu-You'll have to reset your clock and time zone afterwards, but that might do the trick..And you know you need to power the psp down totally, not just sleep mode before you can access recovery right?

Yes I do l know that it has to be complete turn off. Just now I try again to be on recovery mode and this time I saw a glitch of the recovery screen mode (blue screen) and after that it just went completely black screen (blank). About the Irshell before Reformatted it was under games (you probably know the icon display) and now it's not there anymore. Anyway just incase I need to reinstall the 3.40 OEA again do I still need the lumines downgrader again? thanks D you've been very helpful!.

Ok-when you saw the recovery mode (blue screen)-did the psp shut itself off, or is the power still on, but the screen is black? Try pressing the brightness button, the one to the left of the musical note button..... Its funny how that works, huh?

As far as having to use Lumines again, you have already downgraded to 1.50 fw once...So,if you need to reinstall your custom firmware, you would just run the 1.50 recovery to bring you back to 1.5, then you would install your 3.40OE after that....

Ha ha you're right, I still have the recovery mode. And now time for the Irshell, back to psp hack I guess.

Make sure you have a game UMD inserted in the drive-and your settings in the recovery console are disabled for "use NO-UMD"..Otherwise you could have a bad rip of that game and you should try downloading another..

Well if you are looking to modify your psp to play downloaded games-it needs to be downgraded to fw version 1.50 first-then you install/upgrade to a custom firmware-which still allows playing pirated games, as well as having features found in sony's official firmware..SO 1.50 would be your ideal firmware to look for...Because its ready to have custom firmware installed..Otherwise pretty much any one that has firmware less than 3.50 can be downgraded...If you get one with 3.11-3.40 you would need to upgrade to sony official 3.50 fw, and you need the Lumines UMD game along with the downgrader to downgrade it-and by doing so you pretty much can say goodbye to going back to official sony firmwares-at least you wouldnt be able to update any further than 3.30...If you cant find one with 1.50 already, try finding one that has less than 2.80, because then you dont need to downgrade using any UMD games..and if you decide to go back to official sony firmware- you still can...BTW official sony firmware updates can be found at psp-hacks.com in the downloads section...

Thats right-Use that for making backups of the UMD games that you own-and do not intend to sell afterwards....

Umm-thats not good either...Go to the right-hand corner of your last post, and the one from earlier-and click on the icon that looks like a little notepad and edit both posts so they dont say anything about making copies period...
