I'm sorry, I know this has been asked "countless" of times (there's even a tutorial for it), but alas, I have to asked for your help...

I am trying to compile an "episodic DVD" which has 6 episodes in it. I've already converted it from AVI (using winAVI) to DVD, and it totals to around 6GB (movies only - no more "extra" files)...I've already tried adjusting its compression setting to a much lower %, but I always can't get passed down to (around)88%...which means, It took me around "5 tries" backing up and re-authoring the DVD...repeating the process over and over again to attain the "burnable" size.....is there any other way to do this?...thanks.

You've mentioned that this question has been asked, countless times beforehand. Have you actually used the "search" function of this site to AID you?

Try typing in "episodic burning" minus the quotes, and see what is available.
