ok I was reading along only to find out 60 min. after putting my 360 back together that commedera4eva edited the hitach ixtreme. So I reopened my working 360 and tried the restore.bat command. well at first it said error error error error then it said will not close until drive is flashed please stop any background tasks or the drive is wrong and then bam my drive was automatically disconnected from windows. Tried the slax method again can't get drive into modeb. all that happens is the green light continuously flashes. I reconnect everything only to find and E 65 error. what should i do

well I just replaced the entire xbox 360 cause i kind of stepped on it while it was on the ground. anyway I got a new one and it has the 78fk drive in it and when i try to read the original firmware with a usb to sata divice I got a then the screen freezed and i only recieved a 4byte file. so i purchased on ebay a via 6421a pci card to flash it. I read that some people have problems due to raid but others say it is ok and i'm really confused about this. I really do not want to brick my new xbox drive. so advice about this card would be appreciated. thanks for all of your help guys.

Great news. I succesfully flashed my 78fk drive with ixtreme. The via 6421 card was perfect. But now I have a new problem I just posted a new thread called restoring lost original firmware. You guys have been a huge help to me. If you guys could help me out on this one you guys will be even cooler then like everything thanks.

After all that reading, how could you lose your original.bin file when you just used FW Toolbox to read/flash your drive. FWToolbox makes a orig.bin file for you before you can even flash it. Sorry man, but no help on this one from me.

Im not sure what to do but if you dont get help and know how to solder well then get the CHILLIFIX chip which restores and flashed drives from the bricked state http://www.consoleshop.com/product.php?productid=16298
