wow my iso loaded when i put in a UMD, i put in toca race driver 2 and now worms open warfare is running fine, but stil cant get the emulators or minor updates to work? whats the GAME150 folder about? i only have a GAME folder under PSP and tried making one just incase but done work to boot snes emulator or fix or anything from there either =s
Tried running the update but it jus came up a blank screen this time, before error code, turned the psp off and on again, stil cnt load emulators, im guessin the update didnt run.
Should I format my memory stick and try puttin the files on again?
Formatting the memory stick should be fine right? dont need any files i used to install this firmware? (im guessing not like when you install something on a pc, but just making sure)
once you are finish with that backup any important stuff like saves and iso's that are on your psp's memorystick to your computer desktop or something and then reformat your memory stick.
you should now have the following folders
ISO MUSIC
PSP >Place the folder called "M33-SIX" in your PSP\GAME150 folder
i would recommend 3.51 M33-6 (the latest update to 3.51 M33) as it has a patched sony np9660 driver which looks like it has 100% no-UMD capabilities...(no-one seems to have found any games that do not work with the patched driver).
oki formatted the memory stick, the folders came up as you posted redice, well jus before your edit lol.. i have a GAME150 folder and a GAME351 folder, tried running update from 150 it didnt work, same as before when trying from GAME, also snes emulator runs from GAME150 but with no picture...
should i run the update from another folder? or try a lower one first?
Edit: maybe i should note that when the iso of worms runs it fades from the psp logo at the normal speed, but when i load the snes emulator and update the screen goes black much sooner, with the snes emulator the sound plays but no image, so its running, maybe the update is runnig but with no image as it contains no sound?
try this turn your psp all the way off and then hold the r button down while powering up the psp . then from there you should get a M33 Recovery Menu
Main menu screen go down to configuration and hit x and make sure by game folder homebebrew it says currently: 1.50 kernal if it doesn't then go down to it then hit x until it says currently: 1.50 kernal
go back to back and hit x and exit the M33 Recovery Menu
Main menu screen
ok when this when i load the snes emulator and update the screen goes black much sooner, with the snes emulator the sound plays but no image, so its running, maybe the update is runnig but with no image as it contains no sound?
oki firstly i started the console with r pressed, blank screen so pushed backlight button and the recovery mode became visible, it was on 3.51kernal so i changed it as said to 1.5kernal, exit and selected snes rom first t osee about the back light button, the emulator started normally anyway, with the update i had to push the backlight buton but it worked and it was a success.
oki i find that when i make the emulator visible when i exit the screen is set to dim, then running the emulator then its fine, if the screen is set to bright when i run another emulator it starts blank.. is this normal, its no big deal jus somewhat amusing lol..
Also it seems worms open warefare CSO (not iso sorry) still doesnt work without the UMD, again no big deal i guess.. unless it is because it is an CSO not an ISO.
your welcome and now that you got the update to work. you should do the following Go into recovery menu > configuration > mode umd > keep pressing X until it reads "M33 driver" this is suppose to let you play your legally backup iso/cso with out the need of a umd in the drive.
also go to your power save settings in the xmb menu and put the backlight off to 10 and you can turn off sleep. see if that helps with the psp backlight problem.
Thanks I got the Backup to work without a UMD inserted now thanks, the backlight thing is still not working bu tI will still play around with it.
Anyhow Thanks for the continuous help, I didnt expect posting a topic would get such a helpful response if any, wasted hours before hand browsing trying to decifer other topics the parts that are relevant to my original question =p
Im going offline now but wondering if you could link me to or help me with customising the menu's etc (if possible) and other relevant kool things with this firmware or for the psp in general.
