After installiton Wiikey, how to verify if it works? Which media to use?

Hi yesterday I installed the wiikey using the wire method, and I burned a disc config of my region (North America) in a maxell DVD+R (Up to 16X) . The Wii dont recognized the disc. The only media I have left is a Imation DVD+R (up to 8X) and some Verbatim (Digital Movie DVD-R), which one should I try next? I hate to waste DVDs =( . Thanks.

i have used verbatim before, so i know they work..

its more likely a bad install thou.. is your wiikey genuine? i had a clone that didnt work. also if you have a meter check continuity on your connections.

also you dont have a wii with the wires clipped do you? then the wire install methods that solder right on to the board wont work..

what do you exactly mean "wires clipped'? that the wii inside came with some clipped wires or something? I used the solder method with wires

I just burned a Imation DVD+R (Up to 8X) using Nero at speed of 4X and no luck.

ONly I got left is the Verbatim...

I forgot to mention that what I'm trying to burn is the Setup disc of the Wiikey

look at the bottom picture on this link

then look at the same chipset on your wii, on some new wii's those 3 legs are clipped (if yours are, you will be able to tell)

if thats the case its more difficult to chip, especially if your not great at soldering..

ohh man... yes they are clipped.. thats Consoleworkshop do it for you? I dont want to "reveal" the 3 legs looks too risky lol

So I should just take out the wiikey right? because I install it thinking its a D2A board... (mine is D2B), It wont be any problems if I just take it out ritgh?
and yes the Wiikey is genuine I got the original sticker.

well you can just leave it in it wont do any harm..

i didnt use console workshop, as there is someone near me who does them.

but, i know people who have bought from there and they are a reliable site if you choose to use them..

just email theconsoleworkshop a couple times if your weary of using them..

it would be easier to find someone close to you thou
