okay i did on a dynex dvd+r and now i need a free way of booting the disk i got one question though if u hav the HDD for a ps2 can u put the swap magic elf thingy in it to start up imports/backups?
I don't know if you can, but even if Swap Magic was installed on the HDD through disc image or .elf, you won't be able to boot backups/imports. The thing with playing games installed on an HDD, is that the program (HDLoader, for example) creates a virtual disc drive and whichever game you select, the program pretty much loads the game into that virtual drive. So even if one were to eject the tray of the actual disc drive on the PS2 while playing a game from the HDD, the console wouldn't respond to it.
But there is a free way of loading your backups/imports, do you have a fat or slim PS2?
Ok, so you have a fat PS2 then. Have you heard of the softmod exploit? It's also known as the Memory Card Exploit, but you do need either HDAdvance or Swap Magic and a PS1 game for it though. You don't have Swap Magic, right?
You have an HDD inside the PS2, right? What about either HDLoader or HDAdvance? You'll need the originals of either of those. I don't think HDLoader is being sold anymore, so you'll want to get HDAdvance.
Pretty good price, what site are you getting it from? I'm thinking about getting SM 3.6 w/ the flip top, even though I have a modchip, to experiment with.
here is the link u can get it with the fliptop for 25
just go to ps2 and find where swap magic is then scroll
down there is lots of packages just find urs shipping ranges from 5-10 dollars
