Which wire has to be connected to which device if i want to play ps2 games online?

i set up my online and everything seemed to be working i mean i had a connection and everything, but everytime i would try and put in a game and try and create an online account it would say connection timed out or something like that, if you could help i would appreciate it!!!!1

are you connecting directly to the PC, through a router or through a wireless gaming adapter? It could be so many things that are stopping it like an Antivirus software, a firwall, router security (wireless routers only) or other things.

im connected from my playstation to the router ontop of my comp, if that helps at all?

to play online is it necessary to do all this?

1.install network adapter,

2.register the network adapter,

3.and create a network configuration?

or can i just connect the ethernet cable straight to my modem to my ps2??
