I have a flashed 360 with 5.3 samsung fw. i followed the tutorial: flashing with ixtreme/via card step by step and nothing will work. Heres what is going on, i formatted my floppy using the xbm5.3. got thru that fine. I then grabbed a copy of my orig bin and put it into the ixtreme v1.2_revc.samsung fw, went to fast then double clicked on the make fw. Dos came up and said my fw didnt match cuz i have a ms25 not a ms28. So I then put a "Y" next to the question do you want to put your orig bin in the bin. Then it makes the fw. Change the name to hacked bin. I transfer it to the floppy disk. shutdown my cpu.

Reboot to dos and type in mtkflash w /m /sata hacked bin. then this comes up:
drive scanned
1 IDE SEC MASTER
2 IDE SEC SLAVE
3 XTREME PRI MASTER
CHOOSE ONE DRIVE:
So I pick "1" and it comes up with
Port: 170 Master/Slave a0
nothing happens!!! So I push esc and get
status = 73 should be 70
err: user break

If I choose 2 I get Port 170 Master/Slave b0
status = 51 should be 70.

please tell me what Im doing wrong and how to fix the problem to get my 360 done.

required to pick XTREME PRI MASTER

it's the sata controller

those other should not be listed. best would be to disconnect everything else from the motherboard whilst flashing.

Ok, I just did that and it just sat there again! so now i have chosen all 3 options and it wont do anything. Someone has to have had this problem before and fixed it! Please help. Waiting to flash now!

for me there is an option that says SATA. wat card are you using?

It won't flash unless you disable "firmware guard." (firmware guard is automatically enabled in the Xtreme 5.X hacked firmwares) You need to burn the "activate.iso" file to a DVD+R DL disk and insert it into your 360 to disable it, then boot the computer up and flash...if you don't disable "firm guard" you can't flash. You only need the activate.iso disk if you have an hacked firmware on your drive, which at this point you do.

Thank you ill try the activate iso now. but my question is which drive do i choose when i flash?

You have to use "xtreme pri master." Also, make sure you flash with the new iXtreme firmware which lets you play on Xbox Live detection free.

ERR:fail to open input file!

ok im using a floppy drive. i turned my cpu off. i turned my 360 on i put the activate iso disk in. wait till i don't hear it spin anymore. once that stops i turn on my cpu boot to dos. type in mtkflash w /m /sata hacked.bin hit enter then pick the xtreme option (3) and it gives me the error.

Are you using onboard sata or a sata card like the via 6421. Also if your floppy drive is an older one i would use a USB flash drive instead if your computer will allow you to boot to usb. I flashed my m28 using a different method you can find a www.360mods.net. It is a little bit more involved than this method but worked for me.

i bought brand new floppys. i don't have a flash drive. i dont understand why im having this problem. i did everything as the tut said. i then used activate iso. i did get the drive to flash but i get that dang error. i have been looking around for help but have found nothing! i got another floppy out and even tried to do it the old school way by formatting the disk myself and putting my mtkflash and mtktyp file and move the hacked bin over. then shut it down and try to flash it and get the same dang error. i know my drive is showing up cuz i get the xtreme option (#3). this really sucks cuz im on my 12th hour of working on this.

If you have the via chipset you can do the 10 second bad flash method which disables firmguard. If your using XBM i would use the tutorials at 360mods.net to flash your drive. If you need anymore help just post back and ill try to help as much as possible

If you have the via 6421 which sata port are you using on the card. You should be using the port to closest to the front of the computer case. And also what method are you using? The XBM with iprep or mtkflash?

I had this same problem yesterday. Format your floppy and make a new floppy with either iprep or xtreme bootmaker. Copy your new ix12.bin file to your newly created floppy and then try it. Should work then.

i have pretty much tried everything. I am still stuck on the part where it should be flashing. i did some more research and found a tut with the xtremebootmakeer 5.4 and i got it to flash by updating my orig bin to the newest fw and i booted to dos and then typed update and it flashed but when it was done i unpluged everything and hooked it up to the tv and put a game in and it said you must put this game in a xbox 360 for it to work. so now im really confused! anyone ever heard of this?

I'll tell you what, I had a really bitch of time flashing either a MS25 with 5.x firmware or MS28 with my VIA card. One you half to do the 10 sceond trick. Really I counted to 6, but when I finally did get it would I made a copy of the floppy so I wouldn't have to go crazy like I did next time it comes up. Did you do the 10 second trick?
