My original alkaline wiimote battery ran out. So I went to the attic and dig up 3-4 yr old rechargeable battery. I don't think they have been used for more than 10 times. Charged it for 4 hours and the full charge light is now on. Put the rechargeable batteries in and wiimote doesn't even power up. Then I put disposable ones in and it still works. I checked the rechargeable batteries in my tv remote and it works.

I opened up wiimote and look at the small print and it says 1.5v recommended. Checked my rechargeable and it says 1.2v. Problem is google shows that all rechargeable is 1.2v and only disposable ones are 1.5v

Are the batteries I'm using too low in voltage? Think the capacity is 1200 mAh or maybe 1600 mAh and it is NiMH. I'm prepared to buy high capacity ones with 2700mAH. Will that work?

Please only recommend UK sites as I live in UK. I don't want to buy a wiimote rechargeable base as that is only designated for wiimote.

Okay, so I only need to get higher capacity ones for it to work. I'll find the ones with highest capacity then :)

Mine was 1300mAh so it was probably way too low. Got mine today, and will charge it up when I get home.
