My PSP is on 3.50 M33
But it's been having this problem for a while.
I dropped my psp a few times. It's been getting worse since then.
It's english.
I've never opened it or modified it in any way except for custom firmwares.
Okay, so my problem is, whenever I play a game (be it ISO/CSO or UMD) I am able to play for about 10 minutes, then it freezes and after a few seconds the psp turns itself off. If I turn it back on, it takes even less time to freeze. So if I leave it for a day, it just goes back to freezing every 10 minutes.
I can watch movies, but they freeze after about 30-40 minutes.
I can also listen to music but it freezes if I change the volume too many times or if I listen to ALOT of music.
I personally think it's one of two things. A VRAM problem, or overheating. Either of which I have no clue how to fix.
Can someone here please tell me what is wrong, and if you know, how to fix it. Thanks ever so much. Also, if you need to ask a question, if I haven't explained enough, go right ahead, I'll answer anything about my PSP that I know.
ok first off all it might not be any of those porblems.. i tmnight just simply be a software problem... did u have this porblem with any other FW...? i would advise firstly to downgrade back to original 1.5. try and see if this fixes your issues..... (use a devhook to try out an iso) is this fixes it then itwas probs a bad flash.
However if you continue to face these problms then its a hardware problem. Dissmantly your psp to the motherboard. i mean like taking out ALL ribbons from all parts and blowing them down. re connect your psp back togethor and see if this fixes it. if you have dropped it then a ribbon might have come out of place or have become more loose. once u dismantle it you should be able to see roughly if a ribbon has been loosened etc. gd luck.
Okay thanks. It's probably a hardware problem like I suspected then, because I had this same problem with OE firmwares. I did once downgrade to 1.5, then back up to 3.03 and it worked fine for a while, but I think now it's just decided not to work, as I've tried going to different firmwares. I thought it might just have been the 3.03 RAM problem, but it wasn't.
hmm if it worked better when u downgraded i suggest u do it again and use devhook just to be sure.
Also if u do conclude that dismantling is the fianl option i suggest you use some video guys that can be found either on www.youtube.com or on googlge video or on metacafe.com. this is how i learnt.
Word of advice: do not be scared when opening the psp as it is all to easy to fix. i found it it very easy and i opened my psp when i was 14 ;) (im 15 now)
It depends, how much are you willing to buy it for? because I'm considering getting it fixed, then selling it to a friend for £140 with a new faceplate.
