Hi guys..
I had my 360 drive flashed 7 months ago at a pc fayre so i have lost my original firmware and key.
I would like to reflash and update my firmware to xtreme 5.2c
But I am unsure weather or not to follow the normal proceedure of flashing a drive with original firmware.
I'm sure i have to retrieve my key or something so i would really appreciate it one of you nice people could point me in the right direction.
I have an ms28 drive and have flashed 2 drives in the past.

Ok get your hacked firmware and get the key from that.

Then get an orig version of the same drive as yours. Inject your key into that. Then flash back to orig. Then hack orig to xtreme 5.2c and then flash that.

the thing you will need is the key from the dvd's firmware.
how did you flash your drives in the past?
if it was the mtkflash way at dos then all you would need to do is type mtkflash r /m /sata orig.bin (i know its not the original firmware but type it anyway) and that will give you a firmware file that you can then use to get your original key from.
put that orig.bin file in the same directory as the xtreme firmware package and run the 'make xtreme firmware' file.
this will end up giving you your hacked firmware file which i would then check in 360 toolbox to make sure the key is correct (open the orig, check the key, then open your new hacked firmware and make sure the key is the same) if it is then you have your xtreme firmware ready to be flashed back onto your console with your original key :-)

boot back to dos with your new file on your bootable disk/flash drive & type mtkflash w /m /sata x5.2a (or what ever firmware you chose to use) and then you will be done.

why do you want to use xtreme 5.2 instead of 5.3 or even the new ixtreme 1.2?

Thanks ever so much for your help guys, i will give it a whirl at the weekend.

I was going to reflash it to xtreme 5.2c as some of my originals i have backed up are giving me dirty disc errors(the darkness, Ultimate Carnage,Overlord..)

These back ups work fine on the two xbox360's of my friends that i flashed.(They both own the originals too).

I thought maybe my firmware is dated as i didn't flash my xbox360, some one did it for me.

Im using Ridisc branded 2.4x dvds.

I don't play online so extreme firmware should be ok for me.

Have you come across anyone experiencing similar problems as me before?
