ok, i know this is really random, but this IS general wii help!
so i have paper mario, and i get up to the bit with the francis boss battle. i cant hit him, and he doesnt use his tongue attack which i have read about. I dont know if this is the image? or the burn? or something! all i know is that i DEFINATELY cant hit him. please can anyone shed some light on this.

yeh i have looked and done exactly as it says. I have also check video walkthroughs just to see if im doing it right. He doesnt do the tongue attack that i have seen online and there is no way i can hit him! i just dont understand!!
thanx alot for your help. i know! it is a really random problem. ive looked everywhere and itseems noone else has this problem. However it is a definate that it is uable to hit him and that he does no 'tongue attack'. i had a friend come over who had already beat the game try and do it and he couldnt. but like i said, thanks for the help.
1) use Mario to track him while he's cloaked (3-D mode), then jump on him just as he comes out of hiding.
2) Use Bowser and breath fire on him whenever he appears. It's a little trickier, since you cant track him and therefore have no idea when he is going to show up.

i have the same problem. i cant seem to touch francis. i can run through him without taking any damage. the only way i can interact with him is by picking him up with thoreau. i can throw him on his meowbombs but francis doesnt take any damage at all. looks like its a bug in the game. i used the flute to go back to flipside and played through the whole chapter 3 again but it didnt change anything.
did you figure out how to fix this?
i know im bringing this topic back from the dead, but for the first time in ages i just put my gamer back in, i have the 3.0e update if that means anything. AND IT WORKS!! not sure how but it does!
