Firstly, damn you greensman! Making me laugh with your whiskey remarks when im in this condition :P
Right. Shardel, thank you very very much. My older sister just bought me two lemons and a jar of honey, saying that mixing a few teaspoons of honey with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and adding hot water, stirring, and drinking, would help soothe my throat alot. I tried it, and while i was drinking it, it was bliss, i then didnt have the energy to make any more lol.
But your confident that two tablespoons on pure lemon juice gargled will do the trick? If so ill try that in a minute.
And greensman, thanks v much, i just ate half a packet of mcvities digestive chocolate biscuits because they were the only things i could swallow without horrendous pain, and they are all i have eaten in 24 hours. Ill try the lots of drinking of tea.

P.S, so it is linked with the pain in my back? THe kidneys are trying to clear the infection? Thats amazing, at least i know that my bodies figthing it off lol. The pain is terrble though, without going into too much detail, i have lots of excess phlegm that i cant do anything with because my throat and....pharynx(?) is so painful.

yeah it could be. are you a heavy soda pop drinker? if so lay off the stuff its no good for the kidneys especially pop like Mountain Dew etc. drink all the water you can get down

have my tonsils and have not had a bad attack in decades.
The more fluids you get down you the better your back will feel. I
know with a throat that sore it is miserable to swallow.
Greensman is right about one thing. The whiskey will help cut the
phlegm. Problem is it burns like fire until you get the throat so
it isn't so sore.
When I was 18 was when I met this old country doctor. He also
told me about the whiskey and how to make an old fashioned cough
syrup that really works. (I didn't drink then and I still don't.)
I went to the liquor store and asked for a bottle of whiskey. The
guy said what kind do you want. Wide eyed I said there are different
kinds? The guy looks at me sort of superstitious and asks what I
want it for. I told him. He said yah sure and laughed, but handed
it me a bottle of whiskey. That little bottle lasted me over 20
years.

Little bottle? More like 20 seconds.
Get well soon billybob. You don't have to mix the ingredients for that cough syrup Shardel mentioned. The one I learned was to mix a bit of horehound candy with lemon tea and then mix in the liquor. For a bad cold, dispense with the lemon tea and candy. LOL

Actually Pacman I didn't give him the recipe. Sure can tell you
know Appalachia. The old country doctor was in WVa. By the way
the cough syrup recipe. Take a jar. Put in half horehound candy
and half hard lemon drops. Cover with whiskey, put the lid on, and let sit for 3
days. It makes a really thick syrup. 1/2 teaspoon will cut any
cough.
Brings back memories. When I lived there the state started a keep
WVa clean program. They put out hundreds of barrels along the
highways painted bright green with that logo on them. The next day
there were no barrels. The moonshiners had helped them selves to
new storage equipment. :)

It appears a bit rubbed off on you from your days in WV. ;) It's an interesting place with a history most people wouldn't believe. Until civilization encroached the isolated hamlets of Appalachia were a world almost to themselves. That was well into the last century. Some of the old timers can still remember. There was a dialect spoken that borrowed heavily from Old English with input from the Scotch-Irish. I hear if you didn't live there, you would have probably needed an interpreter.

I had my tonsils out when I was five or six years old. I barely remember it. I remember being all excited when mom and dad brought in some ice cream but when I tasted it, I spit it out because it tasted so terrible. They stilled used "ether" in those days. Damn I'm old :(

Now both of my ears are throbbing to?
THe paracetamol as worn off, and i cant go downstairs to get more. Ive had my penecillin doseage for the day, and im now lying in bed, and every swallow is a struggle. I cant get to sleep.

its like saying wine prevents heart problems, which isn't true its the grapes that are beneficial NOT the alcohol.you get the same result by drinking grape juice. i can't touch/drink any alcohol at all my system will not handle it. it completely screws up my blood sugar levels then i feel like a truck hit me so i don't touch it, pop either

Im 16 thanks, and ill drink piss if thats what it takes because this is f'ing unbearable. I just had about 4 hours sleep, i took paracetamol before i slept, the pain numbed a bit, now its full on killing again. Surely its unhealthy to be takin an adult dosage of paracetamol every 4 hours?

I'd think at 16 you could take adult dosages, whatever they're supposed to be. I wouldn't vary from recommended dosages except under doctor's supervision.
Now as far as alcohol, the number 1 ingredient in whisky, bourbon, vodka, gin, wine, beer, ale, and the lot; isn't that the number 1 ingredient in cough syrup? ;) Well, we know it is in Shardel's, but I was thinking the retail cough syrup. hu-hu-hu-hu Now where's that NyQuil?

Yes but there's alcohol in a hell of a lot of stuff you shouldn't drink! LOL
As for Jay Z, well, each to their own I suppose. Suffice to say it's not my taste, and saying that is an understatement.
Billybob: At your age you should be fine taking adult doses of paracetamol, just no more. I did when I was 16, but not often.
aabbccdd: You'll be pleased to know I very rarely drink anything alcoholic, unfortunately I'm a bit partial to the other stuff.
