I have READ SEVERAL posts from many different sources...
I heard Downgrading to 1.5 Firmware from 2.60 (Which is What I have)
Is the way to do it...
Do I need to Downgrade at all to put the CW Cheat onto my Memory Stick Duo 1GB?? What is DevHook?? How do people Brick their PSPz?
But I hear more things like about 3.40 or 3.30 OE or whatever and DevHook and Homebrew and all this stuff it is SO COMPLICATED...All I want to do is add CW Cheat onto my PSP without bricking it...I bought the PSP from my friend like 2 weeks ago and I want codes for Monster Hunter Freedom for Rare Items and Faster Running and Higher Damage and all that....
Could someone PLEASE Explain to me in an EASY Step by step guide how to put CW Cheat onto my PSP So I could use it without bricking my PSP Please...I just got the USB Connection Cable today from ebay purchase looking for a little help...

sorry dude, there arent and easy steps as of yet, first you need to downgrade to 1.50 and then to custom firmware (which can brick) but anyways. The instructions are copy the dbownload to GAME150 and the plugins folder to the root of your memory stick. Then turn off your psp completley and turn it back on holding the R-Trigga. Go to plugins and enable both of the options and enjoy. to make it work, go to the game and hold select for 6 seconds and then a menu will pop-up. Select your cheats and dun cheat in online games *SOCOM*.

also I'm looking in the umd slot and see these #'s on the motherboard C1003...
So still ok? Also My friend told me if I downgrade I won't be able to play the Monster Hunter Freedom UMD because some Firmwares won't allow you to play some games because you need the latest FirmWare is this true?? and also if I am able to play Monster Hunter Freedom UMD will I be able to still go online with my friends to fight missions with no issues??
I am sorry for all these Questions but I want to make sure this is done right and not wrong...I can't afford a Bricked PSP so I want to make sure I do this ALL RIGHT.
Can't find the FINAL NON BETA Version of Dark Alex...
I checked here...
http://www.hackmypsp.com/index.php?categ...&p13_fileid=440
Description: Update: The download link below has been updated to reflect the final version of the 2.50+2.60 firmware downgrader. The re-packaged RAR archive also includes the required DOWNDATER directory and files generated from the 1.50 helper - place it in the root of your memory stick.
Thats right! Dark_Alex has released a new BETA with some help from Mathieulh and Yoshihiro from SonyXTeam!
Remember, this is still a BETA and could possibly brick your PSP! There are a lot of reported successions though! Use this downgrader at your own risk!
Requirements:
1. Your PSP CANNOT be a TA-082 (If you do have this PSP version, it may result in a brick)
2. Your PSP CANNOT be a factory 2.50/2.60 PSP! It had to have been updated once before from a previous version or the downgrader will not work!

um what he said is true, but that's only if you're on 1.50 and you're gonna update 3.40 oe-a anyways so you can play it. BTW i think you should upgrade to 2.71 and use the 2.71 ta-082 ONLY downgrader kit. try it out first and then come back here. CHECK YOUTUBE FOR EASY HELP!!!!

Well it says When I try to update No Updates Available...also it says that Dark Alex has an Experimental Downgrader that may Brick your PSP and that it CANNOT BE a TA-082...
must not be a factory 2.50/2.60 meaning that it has to have been upgrade and not factory installed. If you have those two requirements, than your set!
So does this mean when I got it out of the box and started it since it was 2.5 and not 2.6 I can't downgrade because It was a Factory 2.5?

The site
HERE
has everything you'll need for downgrading 2.71. Just click on show in the 2.71 TA-082 section and it will even give you the files you need. I can verify that this works, I used it on my brother's 2.71 TA-082 motherboard, just like yours.

Well I got to this part and I am a little confused...
http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-hacks-9/t-gui...uide-90916.html
1. Open the 2.71 TA-82 or higher downloaded files and extract all files to the root (topmost folder) of the memory stick.
2.Copy over the 1.5 update EBOOT.PBP renamed to UPDATE.PBP into X:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\
What is the TopMost Folder?? When I do USB Mode I get these Folders MP_ROOT and PSP Folders..Where do I Extract the TA-082 Downloaded Files to the PSP Directory?? Also in Which Directory do I Put the 1.5 Renamed Update.PBP to??
Please Respond Enigma do you have AIM or Yahoo IM??
Also Can I Delete the X/PSP/Game/UPDATE/EBoot.PBP for the 2.71 Update after I updated or do I need to keep it in for the rest of the Downgrading?
Also to keep my save games should I just copy and PASTE ALL Files on my Memory Stick Duo 1GB to my Computer before doing this stuff to my PSP??

1st - You can delete the 2.71 EBOOT.PBP.
2nd - Rename the 1.5 EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP
3rd - Put UPDATE.PBP (your old 1.5 EBOOT.PBP) into X:/PSP/Game/UPDATE/
4th - The topmost folder is the same folder that contains both PSP and MP_Root as shown in the picture below.

Yup, it's okay to say yes to all. It won't delete anything.

One more question when I went into the UPDATE..2.71 Update files...I look at...
PSP/PHOTO/HEND/rand.jpg it looks like a Static Screen what is this pic showing and why is it in the file??
Also if I want to play Monster Hunter Freedom the UMD WHen I downgrade how would I Do so?? I heard I need 2.5 or Higher Firmware to play it but if I downgrade it then how will I play it besides Adding the ISO to my MEmory Stick Duo which I would like to avoid...

The pic is there to hack the system. It has to be there or else the exploit won't work. The downgrader programmer had to put it in a file that the PSP could read - a picture seemed like an obvious choice.
After you downgrade, you can still play MHF from your UMD (I'm actually doing it right now), you just have to go through two final steps. You can upgrade to a newer custom firmware - it's an unofficial version of the PSP that can play homebrew games and play all the latest official games. The catch is, you need to downgrade to 1.50 first before you can upgrade to a custom firmware.
Once you have a 1.5, to upgrade to probably the most stable custom firmware version, 3.40 OE-A, download the file from HERE and run it on your computer, following all the directions.
If you want to run the newest PSP games, you can use 3.51 M33; a download for an easy installer is available HERE.
I've used both of these installers countless times and can say that it's worked every time. I hope this answered some of your questions.
