tampering with game files?

i heard that iso files and such are unassigned codes, so that's why the psp doesn't recognize them. is it possible to tamper with the game files and give them an assigned code. instead of messing with the psp that may brick it?

They are unsigned codes which means they haven't been digitally signed by Sony. And there is no way to tamper with them and sign them as Sony only has the tools to do that. Which they probably won't.
