Hey guys, I was just wondering, what exactly are the leading causes to a PSP Bricking?
Ok I know Taking out the memory stick, flashing it while its not charging or having it not charged, and restarting it during flashing (ive done it myself by mistake) are the main ones...is there anything else that can possibly cause a PSP to brick during the flash?
I only ask this because while I already have a CFW PSP,
I want to help out my buddies and load their's up with some CFW and wanna make sure I can do everything in my power to evaluate the PSP and either flash with success or not flash at all because of a possible brick.
Anyways, I was thinking maybe someone knew if like psp's with certain motherboards bricked, if they've been downgraded before or upgraded a certain amount of times...anyways thanks for any info guys...

1 more important point. if possible dont use a fake memory stick which can be bought at ebay. there is always a higher chance for these fake msticks to malfunction halfway (very unfortunate if it malfunctions while you are flashing)

also using a downgrader for the wrong version that you have. Ex. if you have 3.30 and you use a 3.03 downgrader can brick it too. And is it true that if you try to upgrade from a CFW to an official FW it bricks??

Network update is disabled in cfw's.
#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe
Whatever happens, happens...

By disabled, I mean that you cannot upgrade via network update icon. It will say update failed, error DADADADA or something like that. Try it if you don't believe me.

WOW, thanks a lot guys, incredible how many responses the right subject will get...fake memory stick is one factor I hadn't thought of...I really appreciate all the input, i just wanna help out my buddies and make sure I evaluate any brick possibilities before I flash anything....By the way...where exactly is the flash0 and flash1 file? I'd really like to backup the flash0 file seeing as that seems to be the key file to backup incase of any freak psp crashing....I've never been able to find either just browsing through usb connection...maybe I missed it...appreciate the help guys...
