Target's return policy?

So recently I bought a PSP that was 3.30, it was the last one in stock after I had gone to four Target stores for a PSP. (Not even Wal-mart was stocked, not sure why) but I was wondering one thing.. Apparently their return policy is that items need to be in NEW Condition, does this mean the box itself can't actually be opened?

Also, Target's policy states that they will first ATTEMPT to repair it, and if not successful they will replace it for free.. Is this true then, how long would I have to wait? I thought they could do a direct replacement for the system. (Odd thing is, I haven't seen any around my city anymore. Always out of stock)

Reason I ask is because while updating to 3.40 to play Riviera but along the update it stopped, I waited a few minutes just to end up noticing it said "Upgrade Failed" I shutted off the PSP and bam, all I get now is the green light. Guessing a freaking brick, just my luck. Luckily im still covered by the 30 day warranty thing, problem is that I'm not sure if Target's Policy would allow me to return it for a replacement just like that.. Don't I need extended warranty?

You are fine. Show them the reciept and they will exchange/return for you. If you don't have reciept, then it's a little troublesome. You can still do it if you paid with credit card I believe.

P.S. If they insists on repair it for you, let them. I highly doubt they can. :D
