psx game won't load

i got the game to start up but after a couple of seconds the screen just turns blank can someone tell me why it doing that?

I think it needs a UMD in the UMD drive to start. try goin into recovery amd turning no UMD off (disable it)

okay well try goin into recovery and go to advanced> advanced options and you will see 3 options disable all of them...it worked for me just letting you know....or i heard uf u switch your psp kernel to 1.50 in recovery it works

CF= Custom Firmware; wat version is your psp? to check go to system setting> system information and check

Try downloading and using another iso/cso file. It's possible that the one you're using is malfunctioning. Let us know if that fixes it.

Pay no attention to those guys they didnt read into the details you gave... Anyways lets get down to the gritty... Do you have any customized files to change the appearance of your xmb or anything else? Also, which psx game are you trying to play and did you download it or did you rip it yourself?

ok, first off you might want to check this compatability list to see the detailed info on it.

If everything seems to be in order with the compatability then you may want to consider re-ripping your game. You can follow this video guide as it goes pretty in depth http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/40701.html

you can do it 2 ways.

1. recover using the 1.50 recovery option then upgrade to 3.03 oe-c

2. just upgrade to 3.03 oe-c directly

is there a way i can do it without having to put a progroam on my computer cause it always ask for a password and it a pain in the butt

You can do it manually but you'll still have to download the necessary files. The link that i gave you for the easy installers you dont have to install them to your computer as they are .exe and just run straight out of the download folder.

Anyways you should be able to find quite a few guides on manual installation by using the search tool.

yes, it should say that for the 1.50 recovery.

If you read the instructions on the easy installer...

It says to turn off your psp, when your turning it back on hold the r trigger. This will bring you into recovery mode.
choose the 3rd option that says run eboot from... then sit back and let it do what it has to do.

I don't see any 'details' on your thread :)

I have no idea why you just downgraded to try to run a game you should be able to run on 3.40 cf.

Before you do anything else, anything at all. Please tell us the problem, and everything that you've done thus far. I'm not sure if my page isn't loading right or whathaveyou, however it seems that staxx here knows something I don't about your problem.

All I know is that you've got a psx game that wont load. The game starts and then the screen turns black. I've also learned that you ripped it yourself.

The PSP remains on? You have to restart it to get back to the main (xmb) menu?
