i am trying to burn a monster hunter 2 iso and i have done so with nero, alcohol 120 and dvd decrypter. but when i try the game in my ps2 it don't work. my ps2 can play copied games. i don't know what i'm doing wrong. can someone help plz?

get some sony or verbatim discs and slow your burn speed to 4x and see if it helps.

Don't use DVD-RW, they can fry your laser upon bootup ;) and they never work for games and very rarely for video. As Ripper said, go for some Verbatim DVD-R and burn at half the max speed. Ripper learnt this the hard way.. he use a DVD-RW on my PS2 and he broke it. He still owes me a PS2 >:(

i used imgburn and i used alcohol but it still don't work . i used 2x and 4x as the speed.they are also making my PS2 make a hammering sound.

i burnt the iso on sony disc at 2.4 speed, but the game only worked once and won't work anymore. i know it's not my PS2 thats mashing up, so what should i do? also i can't find a any verbatim discs in any store.

I wouldn't rule out your PS2 just yet, though I do think it is your media. You may just have to order verbatim DVD-R from another reputable store like svp.co.uk or supermediastore.com depending on where you live. Do not buy from auction sites they will more than likely sell you fakes. It may e that your PS2's laser needs cleaned, if the Verbatim don't work, then click the link in my sig "guides written by me" and go to the PS2 Games stuttering and skipping..." thread and use the guide there to clean your PS2's laser.
