Hey guys,

I only just became aware of the fact that a few groups were able to hack PSP stuff and make it so that PSOne games (or some/most of them at least) can be played on the PSP. I've figured out the whole process of taking the disc, copying the .img and converting it to a .pbp, and getting it onto the disc, but then started facing an error about having to activate the system. A little more research and I found out about how I needed to install some custom firmware to do that. More research still, and I realized that most of the firmware required lower versions than the latest release 3.52, and I was thinking that I was pretty screwed. I found out about M33's 3.52, and so my question is,

"Is M3's program meant to take the official SONY 3.52 firmware and mod it so that PSPOne .pbp's can be played?"

If not, are there any known steps to setting up a PSP 3.52 firmware for playing PSOne games created from the actual game discs? Or am I just screwed til someone creates a downgrader?

afraid so :(
3.50 and below can be downgraded (and hence install custom firmware)

1.52>2.0>1.5>3.40 OE-A>3.71 M33-4
3.60>4.01 M33-2

Crap, the only reason I patched my PSP was to make it so that I could network it with my PS3. When I read the PS3 1.90 patch notes was when I realized you could play PSOne games on the PSP. I thought it was a simple matter of putting the PSOne game in the PS3, networking the PSP, and there would be some function to copy the game over. (I even bought a larger memory stick duo for this). Well not only did I realize that doesn't work, but I also realized that the wireless network chip on my PSP is apparently broken.

That's when I started doing my homework on how to do it through a USB connection, and found out about homebrew, and downgrading, and all that stuff. So basically, I found out how to do all of this customizing as a result of upgrading. Talk about irony that just pisses you off, eh?
