what is the best? they both can output 1080p if your tv supports it.
is there any real noticable difference?

HDMI is the best. By the way I think you are confusing component video with composite. Composite cant pass HD

Yeah, HDMI is by far the way to go.

Component video cables (Three different cables for video) can pass HD, but it's still an analog signal. Digital is the way to go.
