How do i play the latest games on my 2.71???

I have a psp with fw 2.71, can sum1 please show me a way to play sum of the newest games that need fw 3.xx on my psp???

i recommend installing a custom firmware (3.40OE-A or 3.52 M33)
to do this you will need to upgrade to 2.80 and use a downgrader.
alternatively if you have unpatched lumines then upgrade to 3.50 and use that downgrader (by noobz.eu)

Isn't there a risk of bricking though, I can't really afford to buy a new psp if it bricks

there is the same chance of bricking when installing CFW as when you update to an official sony FW ie. minimal and almost zero if you are sensible and don't move the psp or screw with the battery or power chord while doing it.

the M33 CFW is very easy indeed to install, just read the readme :)

alternatively, you never said you wanted homebrew and isos, so if you just want to play the latest UMD games then go with the sony official FW (but i would not recommend it - the CFW plays all UMDs anyway and there is no way back from >3.50 FW)

can u talk me through getting the new custom firmware with my psp as I want to play the latest iso's, i don't think my psp is a ta-08 or whatever its called but i'm not sure how to check. when I first bought it it was on fw 2.6, can that be ta-08??

hi if u have gta liberty city stories unpatched meaning the one that has update to 2.00 go to www.psp-hacks.com look for the 3.03 easy up and easy down programme it does not matter if ur psp is a ta-82 this will uprade to 3.03 and downgrade to 1.50 the upgrade to 3.40OE-A or 3.52 M33
