can any 1 tell me which is better too use to burn movies to play on your stand alone dvd player.is dvd+r better than the dvd-r for the stand alone players

A VERY GENERAL rule of thumb would be to use DVD-R format discs. These in my experience, will play on most of the OLDER type stand alone players. As disc technology has improved the older players can't keep up.

Now here's the confusing part, if you have a DVD burner in your PC that can "book type" then this method can literally convert the DVD+R format disc to a ROM disc. This fools the player into thinking that the disc IS the original format. DVD-R's cannot be book typed.
