hi im new to the online experience on ps2 although i have set up my ps2 with the network adaptor and connected it to my router with a cross wiring cable and into my adaptor.
the network starting disk loads up fine and I set up my files and it passes all of its diagnostics tests until attempting to contact central station and error appears and it says 'Central station cannot be contated.Please check your setting and try again.
my ps2 model is a SCPH 30003R
and my router model is a EDIMAX whick works on virgin.
Please help this is driving me INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

try the official Sony Playstation site, or even Google that error message. With networking it could be any number of things that will stp the connection:
Like router security
wrong settings
firewalls
antivirus programs
ports on the router not being forwarded (if needed)
the wrong type of ethernet cable
and so on

Hi go to www.yourgamingname.com and u should have a 14 digit code along with your access disc just follow the instructions on the home page i rang sony about not being able to get onto the central station they told me since ps3 has come out there have been a few probs but gave me that web site to go to i filled out my details and now playing pro6 killzone starwars battlefront 2 fifa 07 ghost recon ad warfighter hope this helps

i have done that but it asks me for a 10 digit ip address. what ip address do i type in? my isp address or my home address?

It could get complicated, I would try your the address that comes up here [url=http://cmyip.com][/url] if your using a router there could be more issues
