There have been only two things stopping me from using this free burner that so many people on this forum speak so highly of. The first, and most important, is that I'm not sure how to booktype DVD-ROM with my Sony DVD RW DRU 710A (aka oem LiteOn SOHW-1633S). Could someone please let me know how this is done? Also, is it possible to burn regular Video_TS files with imgburn or does it have to be an ISO?

Look under Device tab, there's an "Change Book Type ..." button on the lower right corner. This brings up a dialog that lists all the supported burners, in your case it's Lite-On. Change the booktype and you're set. Selecting EEPROM option will write the info to EEPROM of the burner permanently. This way you don't have to bitset everytime you insert a DVD+R/+R DL media.

You can select the VIDEO_TS folder, or the root folder containing VIDEO_TS folder along with any data files/folders, such as JACKET_P, mp3, jpg, txt, etc., just so long the combined size fit onto the media.

Not only this, it also has option to remember which MID (MediaID Code) your media is and you tell it to burn at a certain speed other than the maximum allowable speed for the media. This is under Device tab.

Also, don't forget to look at the Labels tab. It can automatically retrieve the DVD-Text table or the name of the folder if you haven't entered it manually. If you burn with Nero6 in DVD-Video mode, you have to enter it manually but it will uppercase and can only include up to 15 chars, which may not be enough. Imgburn does not have this problem with the ISO9660 and UDF filesystem. There's a limit to how many characters you can enter though but it should be more than enough, I don't remember how many. You can look it up.

Do I have to be in a spacific mode to do this? The last time I used this program, which was a while back, as far as I knew it only allowed ISOs to be burned. I think I got that idea in my head from one of the guides on the forum illustrating how to backup a DVD using shrink and imgburn.

Here's a list of GUIDES for different situations. It's not that hard to use.
