Easy way to determine motherboard version?

Hi Afterdawners,

I just bought a Wii and was wondering if there is any easy way to figure out which Mobo version I have?

Do I have to crack it open to find out or can I figure it out from the serial or printed version number?

Searched around but didn't find anything on this.

There are some list of serial #'s out there but they are not very reliable on pin pointing what version of chipset you actually have.

The most reliable way is to open it and look at the chipset itself. If it is a D2C chipset then it can not be modded. If it is a D2B chipset with the legs cut from the chip then you will need to solder to the cut legs or modify the chipset to make it easier to solder to the cut legs.

Next time you should try searching for your answer. This has been asked multiple times in the past. Just as resent as a few days ago.
