DVD burning speed- why can't i burn past 4x?

I have DVD Shrink installed on two of my computers, one is relatively new, the other is old, but runs great. I also have a Pioneer DVR-111D dvd burner in an external enclosure. On the new computer, I tell DVD Shrink to burn at max speed with my Pioneer, and it burns at 16x. On the older computer, I tell it the same thing, and it burns at 4x, and I can't manually select to burn at 16x. What's up with that?

Try right clicking the drive in My Computer and selecting properties. Under the "Recording" tab it may be set to max speed of 4x. You may adjust the properties there.
