I just got my xecuter 2.2 lite + the other day, and figured it would be an easy install since I have a version 1.0. I read about everyone not being able to get the green LED to come on, so when mine came on the first try I was stoked, however, even though all 3 LEDs are coming on, I do not think that all of the pins are connecting properly. If I readjust the chip 500 times then the bios will boot. I had it working last night, then today whenever I enable the chip, my xbox turns on, then promptly shuts down again. It does this 2 times, then boots to a black screen with nothing on it. hmm...Perhaps my dO point is not my problem, but the other points are my problem...any suggestions? I am thinking I will prolbably just end up soldering my "solderless" chip...grr

Nah it def sounds like its the d0 point. When i got mine to work with the green light it wouldnt show the bios update screen so i had to adjust it a bit and screw it a bit more down and then it worked fine.

You sure it might not be the other points? I checked the dO and it looks like it has a connection..plus the green LED is on. I know for a fact that the blue LEDs are misleading..there is only one pin that needs to be connected to turn on both blue LEDs...and I know that several times all three LEDs were lit up, but the pin right above the bottom blue LED was not connected.

Any tips on soldering them?

Well if thats the case id say that your chip is screwed up. I would send it back to be honest.

No, I have got it to boot to the cromwell screen a few times..I will just solder it. However, just to make sure..I did try to flash my bios with the M7 bios, and I dont believe that it worked. It said loading..then after a while the dvd drive ejected and it said please insert bios update..I restarted it, and it still booted to cromwell..do I dont think It flashed...But when I do flash it..all I do is put the M7.bin file and a 1 meg. of dummy.bin on a cdrw and burn it with Nero?

Ok if you get that screen your fine. No it didnt flash. When it works it will show a bar and then shut off the xbox when its done. Im not familiar with the M7 bios i have the xecuter 4977 bios on mine. Go to http://www.xbox-scene.com/tools/tools.php?page=flash and download the Xecuter Bios Manager program. Open that up and hit import and hit your bios file. Then click on each bank and hit add i believe and when you do all 4 save it. Burn that file and the dummy file. If it still ejects, its your media. I personally burned mine onto a DVD-R.

K, I was up untill 4 in the morning soldering everything into place, and still no luck...it still turns on then off twice then boots to a black screen. I am getting very frustrated because I know that my chip is good, I had cromwell show up before...Is it possible that when I attempted to flash my bios I could have not burned the cd right or had a corrupted bios that would have caused this? I am doubting this because of the fact that I never got a progress bar or any kind of confirmation that the chip was in fact being flashed...*rips out hair*

When that happens it means that it cant find a bios. So in your case its probably a bad flash. If you have the same chip switch the bank to the one you didnt use and reflash it. By the way what bios did you try?

Well the 4978 is a beta bios. I wont touch a beta bios. I have the 4977. Anyhow, on your switch theres the switch for bank1 and bank2 just flip that to the other.

flipping switch doesn't work. the 4978 build was 1024 instead of 512, is it possible it used both banks? if so, do i need one of those "programmers" to get this thing working?

I used the 1024 size too...so im guesing it would have taken up both banks...and I can tell you that it turns off twice then flashes..not sure what colors however..i have blue LEDs heh...So if i get the programmer will this solve the problem?

For future referance..is there any way to check my bios file to be sure it is a good bios? I want to use the M7 because I have heard of many people saying that they have trouble backing up games with the other bios.
