problems burning games w/ external DVR-111D

I have a pioneer DVR-111D hooked up in an external enclosure. I tried burning GoW with it, but all i've gotten is coasters (2). I really don't want to try again until I know I can make a good copy.

I'm using ImgBurn to burn and I KNOW my settings are correct, I double checked

What media are you using?
I use that exact burner with verbatim dvd+r dl and it works flawlessly

you use an external one too? well, does it make any difference that i just installed it into a new mnsscool external enclosure?

i'm using ImgBurn and this is the error log i get:

W 19:25:36 Failed to Write Sectors 150624 - 150655 - The semaphore timeout period has expired.
W 19:25:36 Retrying (1 of 20)...


and it never retries, it just sits there


PS, i'm using an older, slower machine, does that make a diff?

ok, i installed it internally and it worked fine. that was the problem. thanks for the help :)
