Devhook doesn't work for these kinds of things, you have to be in the official firmware 1.5, or in another CW for the installer to work

Which firmware were you on at the time?
And were you under warranty? If you were then, yes, i think they should replace it.

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure that Sony can tell if the psp's had an attempted ROM-flash. You might be SOL, but give it a shot.

I don't think it actually matters, they should till replace it, but they'd give you a PSP with firmware 3.52.
You could sell this PSP for parts, or get a mod-chip installed if you don't want to have a PSP unable to do homebrew, then again there will probably be a downgrader come out for like firmware 4.0 or something...

if its under the year warranty sony should replace it wether failed mod or not, software mods are currently not illegal, only hardware mods, ie modchips,
they just use a special memory card and battery to unbrick it, if you want to buy them you have to get it from south america i think, only place ive heard of having gotten ahold of em, but they cost like 350 so not really worth it, if your not in warranty than only way i know of is a modchip, once installed it can reflash your memory
