Im in the market for a PlayStation 2. Future Shop here in canada has several PS2 slims (white, silver, black) for sale for $129 CDN. Thye model: SCPH 77001 SS/CB. I would like to play backup games on the unit but dont want to explore the hardware modchip route. I've heard of Swap Magic. Is it compat. with the SCPH 77001 SS/CB PlayStation 2 slim model? Do i require Magic Keys or is it switch?

Thanks

Yes, it's compatible. If they send you the wrong ones or you need a replacement, there are only 3 things you need. Two small pieces of straw, some electrical tape & some tissue. Sensor A (on front right) & Sensor B (disc brake) can be taped down. Sensor C (directly underneath the metal clip that sits at the back of the PS2 on the hinge) is more tricky. You could stuff a bit of tissue down there, or use a piece of straw, bend it at the bottom a bit and the top. Cut the straw about 10mm i think and insert it in. Wiggle it around until you find the exact spot of the sensor. Adjust the "leg" of the straw so it pushes firmly on the sensor. Use some tape to keep the straw in place, with the lid of the PS2 open. Piece of cake!
