Okay I have finally managed to download my psp to 1.5 firmware largely thanks to this site

Now I am wandering what can i do with it?

Do I need to get 3.30 OE-A or 3.40 OE-A is this whats called custom firmware? Which would members here recommend and why?

Can I now transfer ISO's to my PSP and then play the ISO's

Thanks again

Download 3.40OE-A:
http://exophase.com/files/psp/340_oea.rar

Download the updates:
http://72.29.74.204/~exophase/external/150.PBP
http://files.exophase.com/psp/340.PBP

1. Format your memory stick within the PSP. Don't forget to back up your savegame data.
2. Copy OEupdmaker and OEupdmaker% to %:\PSP\GAME\.
3. Copy the updates (150.PBP and 340.PBP) to OEupdmaker.
4. Run the program within the PSP. It will process stuff. It will take 2-5 minutes. However, watch the entire process. At the end, it will check to ensure that the file it just created is complete and not corrupt. It will say is green letters: SHA-1 correct. If it becomes corrupt, and you attempt to continue to the next step, you will brick your PSP.
5. Copy 340OEFlasher and 340OEFlasher% to %:\PSP\GAME\.
6. Copy DATA.DXAR from %:\PSP\GAME\OEupdmaker to %:\PSP\GAME\340OEFlasher\.
7. Run the installer and let it fly!

P.S. ".iso" files are outdated. Please compress your files into ".cso" using PSP ISO Compressor 1.4. Smaller game files = more games per memory stick!

Haha, ISO's aren't outdated, they run slightly better generally, the only drawback is having larger file sizes.

But, i would also suggest getting 3.40 OE-A, as not all firmware works with the new "M33" firmware's yet. The main reasons to geta custom firmware is that you get all the new features of the official firmware uodate, and you can run games straight from the "Game" folder on your XMB instead of having to use Devhook etc.

After you get to 3.40 OE-A format your memory stick as it creates all the folders that you need, when you connect via USB there will be a folder "ISO" in your memory stick root, this is where you put all your iso's and cso's.
