i use a macbook pro, does that mean that i cant do the iso downloads?

No, you can still use Torrents, just use google to find out which P2P Programs run on macs.

sorry, i misworded it, i meant the firmwre stuff needed for the iso's, cuz ive got 2.71, and i know theres a way to downgrade..but i dun wanna risk bricking my psp

LOL, how could you have mixed up the fact that you have a mac with what firmware you have? Haha...
But, as you'll have probably heard, iso's, homebrew, emulators and everything else only work on 1.50 or a custom firmware, you'll have to downgrade =)
In theory a downgrade should only stand as much chance of bricking your psp as an official update, but then again, there are a lot more bricks from downgraders. Many are down to user error though.
You can use this downgrader for 2.71. If you follow the instructions then you'll have a very low chance of bricking.

thanks, but, before i click it..will it work with a mac, cuz windows uses program extensions .exe and mac uses .dmg, do i put it on the computer, or the psp itself?

sorry, forgot to mention, that ive got a normal psp, not that psp lite, also, can someone link me to a site i can use to put all this stuff on? i dun wanna risk ruining my psp ._. and i wanna put bleach on there, so i heard that theres a homebrew software for the psp by someone named dark alex that could work for that, the bleach game came out kinda recently.

Well, to open the file you'll need a program that opens .rar files (on windows there is winRAR, not sure what there is on mac) and yes, it's an .exe, if you don't have a way to run it i could try find a downgrader you run straight from the PSP.
For running any ISO games (eg the game Bleach you mentioned) it's easiest to upgrade to a custom firmware (i'd suggest 3.40 OE-A for now) as you can run ISO's striaght from the Game folder on the XMB.

You run custom firmware updates a bit like the official firmware updates, apart from that there are a couple of extra steps, as first the program has to combine firmware 1.50 and the official version of the custom firmware it's upgrading to.

ok..can u link me to the programs i need for the 3.40 0E-A to work, and do i have to install any software onto my computer directly? and can i get instructions perhaps? im sorry if im annoying you, but i jus dont wanna end up bricking my psp, so i wanna do this correctly

No problem, but let's learn to walk before we can run :)
First you need to downgrade to 1.50, if you have a way of running the .exe then it should be easy, the installer talks you through everything. After you've got to 1.50 i'll guide you through upgrading to 3.40 OE-A.
First of all (sorry i forgot to mention it before) but if you have a TA-082 motherboard you can't use the downgrader i linked above. To check if you have a TA-082 check your UMD drive as shown in this picture:

hmmm...if i put the installer on a disc then i culd prolly use my bros computer..but..do i need the net for any of this? oh, do u have any messengers, i culd prolly just like..talk to u on there on my mac, n use my brothers computer to do the firmware thing

All you need the internet for is to download the files, the installer doesn't need to connect.
And yes, i use MSN, i'll PM you my hotmail address if you want it.
