When I try to burn an iso of a wii game Toast tells me "CD-ROM XA or Audio tracks cannot be written to DVD." It is a valid 4.37 GB iso image I'm sure of it. I'm trying to burn on Memorex DVD+RW discs with my mac built in burner, Matshita DVD-R UJ-845. I have sucessfully made back ups of xbox's games no problem. Below is a picture of the steps I use to burn it. It has pictures for your entertainment.
honestly, forget Toast and just use Disk Utility. Drag the image over the interface window, click on the image and then click the biohazard-like Burn button on the top left.
MY RESPONSE mark thats pretty funny, and I have searched. As for the media I actually use rw for this reason exactly. I usually make coasters of my discs with similiars problems, hence the rw.
DISK UTILITY : When I use disk utility a similiar error occurs, It lets me start burning, it then "opens the session" for a while. t takes longer than usual. Starts writing the track... it gets about one fifth done then all the sudden my burner gets super loud, like it's freakin out. And then it starts closing the session still somewhat loud. It is now finishing the burn for a long time, couple of minutes, my burner sounds like its eating the disc for lunch or something. OK its done.. the results: "Unable to burn "RedSteel.iso" -The device failed to respond properly, unable to recover or retry.." Oh crap did I just make a coaster of th uncoasterable famed rw?!?!? At least Toast warned me beforehand or is this something else? I have done this twice with the same results.
POSSIBILITIES "device failed to respond properly" maybe a different dvd burner? maybe the media, memorex? Or maybe my computer's just being a bitch? Any ideas
Those pics are hilarious bro XD
Maybe you should try another burn program. I don't know anything about mac, but maybe imgburn will work on it. I've used it ad burned 5 successful backups. And try using verbatim -r. It's said to be the best out besides another brand.
SOLVED: I got the image to burn successfully using disk utility. I just had to lowere the burn speed. Very simple now.
CONCLUSION:Toast sucks and gives you error messages that make no sense has very little support online.
