Ok so I'm going through all my old equipment seeing what I can chuck to make some room. To double check, I plugged in my old fat ps2, turned it on and put in a game. Sat for awhile waiting for a commercial break on the tv, then I switched over to the ps2 and...the game's loaded. "WTF?"
So I try it again, with a burnt disc, the browser screen sits there searching for the disc. Even with a real disc.(System has a modchip though I forget what exactly)
So the thing loads up fine, and CAN play a game, but has problems(which is why I bought a new one like 1+years ago). I've opened up the playstations before, is there anything I should look for? I'd like to fix it somehow since for a second there I had a back up game working fine and it'd be really nice as a backup system or give to a friend or something. No reason to throw it out now.
*Edit* Just worked again so basically my overall question is, what would you think would be wrong that could cause discs not to be read sometimes, but started and played perfectly fine other times.
